Police recruitments in Papua New Guinea have been an ongoing initiative the Government of Papua New Guinea has put in place. The main purpose of PNG police recruitments is to increase the police force in the country. This site we provide some information on Police Recruitments.
Before Applying for Police Recruitments, you must consider the following.
• Your height must be at least 164 cm and above.
• Must not hold criminal records.
• Must complete Grade 12
• You must complete Grade two in the last two years.
• You must have good behaviour records
• You must be physically well-built.
Our core concern is to be available to deliver a high-quality policing service. We believe the police service must be fully accountable to the public and to the community. The Constabulary is now seeking applications from interested applicants for the Trainee Recruitment 2023/2024.
A police recruit is a person selected on merit through a competitive and comprehensive selection process Upon graduating, a police recruit will have acquired basic police skills and knowledge that as a probationary constable shall:
- Perform police officer duties in a professional and ethical manner
- Provide the public with service and support, utilise problem-solving techniques and adapt communication strategies to meet community needs
- Undertake operational patrol and appropriately respond to situations requiring the enforcement of the laws in PNG and/or maintaining
- Undertake operational patrol and appropriately respond to situations requiring the enforcement of the laws in PNG and/or maintaining public order
Job Requirements:
Key eligibility criteria
- Papua New Guinea citizenship
- Evidence of Year 12 certificate, or equivalent with a minimum of Grade C in English and Math
- Aged between 20 –27 years old
- Be medically fit – medical checks and a fitness test will be conducted
- No previous criminal convictions
Key
- Demonstrated high level of personal integrity, social conscience, and respect for the Rule of Law
- Proven ability and willingness to acquire a sound knowledge of Papua New Guinea law, regulations, policies and procedures relating to the duties of a police constable
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with members of the community and colleagues and to respond to direction and instructions as necessary
- Basic keyboard and computing skills
