Thande Make was born in 1995 in Cape Town, Western Cape Province in South Africa. She was raised in Montclair, Cape Town. Her mother is Thembisa Make and her siblings are Nosipho Make and her brother Luphumlo Kwesaba. Growing up, Thandi loved art and sketching. She also loved modelling and started professional modelling at the age of 18. She had her first fashion feature in Seventeen Magazine.

Thandi started as a model in her matric when she joined D&A models in Cape Town. She was just 18 years old by the time she started modelling. Later she was featured in Seventeen Magazine and modelled for Sportscene. The star has worked on TV commercials and Children’s Television Shows. She was a presenter on Cape Town TV and for a youth show called Ekse. She has been in the top 10 for the MTV VJ Search in Cape Town.
After that, she moved to Johannesburg and signed with Boss Models and has been working with them until now. Thandi played a schoolgirl on the Mzansi Magic show Gomora, and Dingaan’s girlfriend on The Queen and played a prankster on a Moja Love show, Bheka Sikbambile. She portrayed Beth, a gold-digging woman on Judas Kiss on Mzansi Magic, acting alongside Angela Sithole who plays the lead Nandi, Marcus Mabusela who plays Judas, Mavimbela plays Zama and cast member Kabelo Moalusi. The star once appeared on House of Zwide playing alongside Wanda Zuma.

Thandi looks up to actress, director, and producer Mmabatho Montsho, a model of Noni Gasa and Enhle Mbali.
“I used to call myself Lumka growing up because I was obsessed with the role Mmabatho played on Generations. I appreciate her raw talent and discipline in the arts industry. In the modelling world, I love Noni Gasa, she is a fashion icon. I have also been following Enhle Mbali’s craft since childhood and hope to be like her one day,” said Thandi.
She sees herself one day working with the Ferguson and appearing on international screens. ¹
