As we mentioned in the #TVSA News Shorts, the SABC1/Vui dramedy uBettina Wethu starts a run on e.tv once Isono ends.
It was originally going to start on Monday 10 April, but Isono’s finale has been split into two parts, so it’s only ending on Monday 10 April instead of Friday 7 April.
uBettina Wethu premieres on Tuesday 11 April at 20h30 and starts from Season 2 instead of Season 1, very probably because of the big casting changes that happened between these seasons.
Here’s an overview of the scenario, followed by details on Season 2:
The series follows the journey of a wholesome, intelligent-but-gawky people-pleaser with a dated, unsophisticated sense of style, who finds her self-worth and image challenged when she is employed at Nubia, a brand management company, where people value image over substance.
Bettina Sikhakane is a kind-hearted, smart, career-focused woman, with a dream of running her own company.
When she lands a job as the PA to Nubia’s new MD, she has to contend with her colleague’s assumption that because of her quirky style and kindness, she must be stupid.
She has to battle her growing love for her boss, clouding her already blurred boundaries and posing a risk to a job that means everything to her.

Betty is determined to focus on her new job as accounts manager but when she learns Dingaan didn’t get married, she’s distracted and hopes they might still have a chance.
Dingaan distracts himself from being stood up at the altar by focusing on his new vision of Nubia and Lakhe is still hell-bent on taking Nubia from Dingaan.
The staff is introduced to a chatty and forward Sindi. The video of Betty and Dingaan kissing is released and everything falls part.
