The examinations are administered by the  Zimbabwe School Examination Council (ZIMSEC) responsible for all the national examinations.

The Junior Education module is followed by 4 years of lower secondary education courses, whose climax is the “O” Level examinations.

After the O Level examinations, the students then join the upper secondary Education for 2 years. They then sit for “A” Level examinations.

Some “O” Level secondary school graduates opt to join training institutions such as polytechnics, technical colleges, teachers’ colleges, and agricultural colleges, while others enter the job market.
